Towing Electrics Ltd is a major UK manufacturer and distributor of Towing Relays. We have been manufacturing at our Rochdale site for almost twenty years, supplying to major distributors and towbar manufacturers both here in the UK and overseas. We supply to many towbar fitting companies and also to businesses selling to online retail outlets such as Ebay.
Towing Relays are electrical or electronic devices which interface between a vehicles own electrics, normally the rear light clusters and the towed vehicle such as a caravan, trailer, horse-box, trailer lighting board, etc. The relays act to protect and isolate the car's own electrics, wiring etc and or battery drain from those of the towed vehicle.
The relays can be split into a number of groups according to their main function, such as Bypass Relays which essentially act as repeaters for the vehicles own lights, Caravan or split charge relays which provide supplementary power to a caravan, or Monitors, which provide an audible warning that the trailer's turn indicators are functional.
